Our interiors team headed to Milan last month to one of the world’s leading interior design exhibitions. Salone Internazionale del Mobile Exhibition takes place from 12th to the 17th April, where everyone who’s anyone comes together to highlight the latest interior design trends, and the very best Italian and international furnishing. Each year the Heronslea design team attend the exhibition, which showcases the latest innovations, new products and worldwide trends, so we can create beautiful show homes and apartments for our developments.

 

The standout themes from the show are retro style furniture, curved sofas and chairs. Fabrics are glamorous with metallic details and lots of texture including velvets with muted colours and gold details. Black is everywhere – floor finishes, bathroom and kitchen taps, lights, fixtures and fittings. The new theme is black and gold moving away from the previous theme of black and white. Lighting is key, rather than being on flat walls they are being built out to include back lighting with ceiling lighting hidden to add atmosphere. Marble and concrete are being used in furniture particularly dining table tops with these raw materials marble, concrete and metal being this year’s key trends. ​
